HEARING IMPAIRMENT

WHAT WE HAVE

– Sound alarm with additional visual alarms in the rooms and bathrooms on the first floor

– The domestic appliances’ instruction manuals are in simplified French (approved by the URAPEI)

– Regulatory labels in the cupboards and different signage labels for the lavatories, bathrooms… that associate text and image

Erasable notepads to communicate through writing.

VISUAL  IMPAIRMENT

 

WHAT WE HAVE

– Two strips of sticker on the length of the entrance door

– On the stairs, the last step has a contrasting colour

– The electric sockets and switches have contrasting colours

– The toilet lids have a contrasting colour

– The user guides for electronic devices are in simplified French (approved by the URAPEI)

– Stickers on the stove buttons to indicate On/Off

– Labels for the dishes in the cupboards

– A 2.2 m high protection of the bottom of the stairs, all the way to the floor (plant)

– Emergency numbers are shown in large characters

– The stair rail starts before the first step.

MENTAL DISABILITY

WHAT WE HAVE

– The domestic appliances’ instruction manuals are in simplified French (approved by the URAPEI)

– Regulatory labels in the cupboards and different labels for the lavatories, bathrooms… that associate text and image

– A sign on the toilet doors indicating the word “toilet” with its corresponding image.

PHYSICAL DISABILITY

 

WHAT WE HAVE

– The height of the switches and pegs are regulatory

– A parking spot with a disability sign

– A regulatory access path.

Bathroom:

– A 67 cm space underneath the sink

– A removable shower stool

– A suction shower grab rail

– The bottom of the mirror is 84 cm away from the floor, on top of the sink

– An extra door handle to close the door easily from a wheelchair

– A bin that is at least 40 cm high, without a lid

– A regulatory fixed grab rail for the shower.

– Two suction-grip grab rails that you can put wherever you need.

WHAT WE DON'T HAVE

–  There is no access to the window by wheelchair

– The necessary space for a wheelchair to go under the sink and the stove in the kitchen

– A 70 cm space underneath the sink in the bathroom.
